Margaret "Margie" Harrell was born in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania in 1954. She attended college in Texas and Arizona, then later moved to Atlanta. Harrell worked in information technology for many years before going back to school to become a massage therapist. She currently lives in Atlanta.

In this interview, Margie Harrell talks about a march she attended at the Georgia State Capitol shortly after the 2016 presidential election, where her picture was taken and published in The Guardian. She briefly discusses her family, including her father's conservative politics. Harrell discusses her experience at the Women's March on Washington, which was overwhelmingly positive. She talks about the intricate sign she carried at the march, her interactions with other marchers, and the respectful friendly atmosphere in the crowd. Harrell talks about some ways in which she has tried to stay involved in political activities, her feelings about the Trump administration, and the way that her Christian faith has influenced her politics. She describes negative interactions she has had on social media with people who have opposing political views. She expresses her hopes and fears for the future of America under the Trump administration.
