Joseph W. Peckham, who writes that he met William Lloyd Garrison at the Union Village convention in 1852 and at the subsequent Albany convention, informs William Lloyd Garrison of the "great pleasure" he experienced in hosting the "old phalanx" of the abolitionist movement during the "darkest-days of the struggle". Peckham inquires if it would be possible for him to procure a copy of the last volume of the Liberator. Peckham informs Garrison that his son is named "L. Garrison Peckham"
