Webb reports that a Glasgow publisher asked for biographies of the "most eminent English anti-slavery writers" to put into a biographical dictionary, to which Webb replied that May could probably be enlisted to write the entries. Webb describes the contemplated format of the dictionary. He says that Julia Griffiths and Maria Webb accused him of making false statements about them, namely that Julia Griffiths held a mortgage on the property of Frederick Douglass.
