Oliver Johnson forwards to William Lloyd Garrison a letter received from Gerrit Smith along with a copy of Johnson's response. Johnson states that he was harsh in his response to Smith, who will likely be offended. Johnson informs Garrison that Mrs. Chapman will take an interest in correspondence relating to the matter surrounding Smith at the Standard. Johnson asks Garrison if he still intends to publish the speech of Mr. Parker following the New England Convention
