Letter addressed from the Independent Office.
Oliver Johnson writes William Lloyd Garrison informing him that Wendell Phillips had notified him that Garrison would be arriving in New York on Friday, and that Phillips had advised Garrison to pass the night at Johnson's house rather than attempting to continue his journey to Orange, New Jersey at "so late an hour". Johnson states that such a visit would be a delight to his entire family, and informs Garrison that he will meet him at the train depot. Johnson adds his current address and directions to his house for Garrison's benefit should Johnson be detained and unable to accompany Garrison from the depot.
