Oliver Johnson wants the Annual Report of the Boston Female Anti-Slavery Society for the National Anti-Slavery Standard and asks Maria Weston Chapman to send it. He comments that "[James Sloan] Gibbons is a jewel. He is going to make a thorough expose in the next Standard of the facts relating to the transfer of the Emmancipator." Oliver Johnson considers the daily Ballot Box "a miserable affair." Johnson says "sub rosa, that I am a little suspicious that [Nathaniel?] Southard is a spy in our camp."
