Boston Public Library (Rare Books Department) manuscript composed in black ink on white paper. In the head- spine corner of the first page a checkmark is drawn in pencil above the number "60", also in pencil. Lower down the first page, along the spine edge, "v.20, P59" is written in pencil, vertically.
George Thompson writes to William Lloyd Garrison that "we are nearing Halifax" and "upon the whole we have had a good run thus far", describing his sea voyage. He shares the "pangs of separation" he felt upon leaving but says that he has been "ten thousand times over repaid for all my time and labours in America, by the joy of meeting with you" and the other abolitionists.
