Samuel Wolcott writes to Amos A. Phelps regarding his agreement to let Phelps use his foreign correspondence in the way he proposed. He writes, "I do not think it is a presuming attempt to put words into your mouth, for I shall expect you to make your own comments in your own language, but I could not so well let you know the general strain of remark that would meet my views & feelings." He requests that a change be made in his original correspondence if it is not too late. He also intends to visit New York City soon.
