Abby Kelley Foster writes to Maria Weston Chapman in regards to a call in the "[National] Standard" for assistance from Boston friends to prepare articles for an anti-slavery fair to be held in Rochester on the 22nd of February. The executive committee of the central New York society has passed a resolution inviting John Anderson Collins to come. She asks if Maria can use her influence to send him to Utica. She writes about political nominations and the third party movement. In a second letter to Collins, Foster writes expressing her anxiety over his health. She worries about funds for the American anti-slavery society. She recommends ways of disposing of money collected. She emphasizes need of his services here, unless needed to go to rescue the society. Mrs. [Francis Wright] who is "bold as a lion for the truth" accompanies her.
