Joseph Lupton writes to Mary Anne Estlin in regards to her interest in the anti-slavery work in Leeds. He writes, "if it were not for such friends to the cause, as yourself, & your excellent father...I am afraid our zeal would get to a very low ebb-I quite envied you your last trip to the continent & your meeting with the friends you did, it was indeed a great treat, & just the thing to stir you up if necessary to just zeal in the cause." He writes of Mrs. Chapman possible visit to Leeds during her journey home. He has not heard the Glasgow address quoted. He writes of his contributions to the Boston Bazaar this year. He mentions Mrs. Lupton's visit and talk with her father, John Bishop Estlin, on the Liberator, and how much she agreed with him. Harriet Martineau "who is staying at present at Bolton Abbey, intends assisting over Box a little this year." His sister, Mary Buckton, and her friend, Catherine and her family left this morning. He gives his regards to her father.
